Audi has been producing top of the range cars since the 1960s. A combination of power, luxury and style, these cars are made to look good and drive fast. None so more than the Audi R8. The current crown jewel of the Audi range the R8 is at the forefront of the brand's mission. The R8 first came to market in 2006, however, it made its first appearance in 2004 in the movie I-Robot in the form of the RSQ, which was a concept car created by Audi at the time. Since its conception, there has been a list of different variations of the model from the Le Mans to the Audi R8 Spyder, all offering something different to the customer. The newest instalment is the most striking to date. Its low centre of gravity matched with its sharp lines creates an aerodynamic beast which handles superbly!
A facelift model of the 4S was released in October of last year. With the newest model, you are getting an extra 30 HP with the base model, with the Audi R8 V10 model receiving an extra 9 HP. With the extra horsepower from the engine, the base model clocks a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, while the V10 clocks a time of 3.1 seconds. With 0-60mph this fast you can expect to reach a top speed of 330 km/h in the V10 option, with the base model being slightly lower. Like its predecessors the R8 is four wheel drive, giving you plenty of traction in all conditions. Looking at the design of the car it is as mean looking as ever! Sporting an aggressive front end engineered to suck in as much air as a possible threw inlets and vents. While these features look great, they actually all serve a purpose whether it's cooling the brakes or improving the downforce of the car, nothing on this car is merely “for show”.
Audi R8 Interior:
Moving to the inside of the car you are met with high quality leather interior accompanied by a leather dashboard. What you might be surprised with is the lack of visual display in the middle of the dashboard. Audi wanted to create a driver focused environment in the car, leading to a 12inch visual display above the steering wheel. This has all the in car entertainment functions along with the different driver settings. Passengers will be fairly disappointed when they get into the car but really this car is for you not for them. While your passenger might not be blown away by the tech onboard, they will be impressed with the amount of room they have in the cabin. As supercars go the R8 has quite a generous amount of leg and headroom which is ideal if you were in the market for a supercar that can be used as a daily driver!
The R8 has a small boot in the front of the car which allows space for a few small shopping bags! But let's face it if you can afford this car you probably don’t do your own groceries! Standard features on this car are 19inch alloys, heated seats, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, front/rear parking sensors and a reversing camera to make up for the lack of rear wind.

Audi R8 Price:
While the newest model of the R8 starts at €235,000 and may be out of your price range it is possible to pick up a second hand R8 for a fraction of the price. There are several models on Carzone starting are 49K for a 2008 model and 85K for 2011 model. Still incredibly expensive but if you have your heart set on fulfilling your dream, a bit of research and a competitive PCP finance package can make this dream a reality. It really boils down to what you want to spend your money on, while the R8 is a work of art, the supercar market is incredibly competitive, one which offers Lamborghinis and Ferraris for similar money.
